Ultrasound FAQs
Just a few common questions about Ultrasound. If there is something else you need to know just ask in the Contact Us form below!
Is sedation required?
Usually no, as it is non-painful. However, a small area of fur needs to be shaved to ensure good probe contact.
What can't it see?
It is limited in examining air-filled organs (like lungs) and dense bone tissue.
How soon will we have results?
You’ll get a verbal summary the same day. If we’ve taken samples, lab results take a few days.
Ultrasound vs X-ray—what’s the difference?
X-rays are great for bones, lungs and overall shape; ultrasound excels at soft-tissue detail and fluid. We often use both.
