Fluoroscopy For Your Pet | Koroit Veterinary Clinic
Think of it as a moving X-ray. Fluoroscopy allows the team at Koroit Veterinary Clinic to watch a continuous video of your pet’s internal anatomy. It is an invaluable tool for diagnosing swallowing disorders, tracheal collapse, and for guiding surgeons during complex orthopedic repairs.

Fluoroscopy FAQs
Just a few common questions about Fluoroscopy. If there is something else you need to know just ask in the Contact Us form below!
If my dog has a "Liver Shunt." Will you use this?
es! We inject a dye into a vein and watch it travel to the liver. If there is a “shunt” (a vessel bypassing the liver), we see the dye take the wrong exit ramp in real-time.
Can any vet do this
No. Fluoroscopy units (C-Arms) are expensive and require specialized training and room shielding. It is typically found in specialist centers or advanced general practices like our Koroit Veterinary Clinic.
What is an Endoscopy?
An Endoscopy puts a camera inside the throat to look at the surface (is it red/ulcerated?)
What is an Fluoroscopy?
A Fluoroscopy looks through the throat to look at the function (are the muscles working?). We often use both Endoscopy and Fluoroscopy to fully understand a swallowing problem.
